Office xp downgrade

Hi all,
i tried to uninstall Office Xp and reinstall Office 2000
instead due to some functionality requirements. However,
after the uninstall of Office Xp, setup of Office 2000
crashed to the end of the installation.
Wonder what happened?
Is there a workaround on this?
