Office XP Hangs/debug

Hi there
We have a windows 2003 server with Windows 2000
workstations. Office XP Pro installed. When we try to
open word or excel docs from the server they take an
absolute age to open (10 mins). If we try to end task
then a message appears "the program cannot be closed, if
it is being debugged please resume it or close the
debugger first"
