Will the Word in Office XP work in Windows 98 SE? Any problems?

Actually that is why I asked. That website seems to say it would work but
it is not ideal. I am trying to decide whether to stay with Word 97 on the
W98 PC or install Word from Office XP. Would hate to do that if it turns
out to work less well that Word 97.

What would you advise?

I used Word 97 for many years, but was essentially forced to switch to
Word 2002 a little over a year ago. In many ways, I like the old Word
97 interface better. Word 2002 has some new features that Word 97
doesn't... if you need the new features, then go for the upgrade, but if
you don't, then don't. There's a feature comparison at
http://www.microsoft.com/office/previous/xp/indepth/compare.asp. FWIW,
Word 2002 barely ran on my old Dell P3 500 MHz with 256MB RAM and
Win98SE, but it works great on my new HP P4HT 2.8 GHz with 512MB RAM and
WinXP.

Thank you. That is what I needed to know. I think I'll stick with Word 97
on that PC for now.
