OFFICE XP LINE SPACING TOO WIDE

At some point in the recent past, my line spacing
function is too wide. Single line spacing is 1.5, etc.
The spacing is correct if I set line spacing to "exactly
12 pt", but I don't think I should have to do this.

I uninstalled then reinstalled the program, but the line
spacing is still incorrect. Any suggestions.

What application are you using? Word?
