office xp not downloading after window 98 reinstall, have files

I am trying to reinstall office 2000 xp on my puter after wiping out to
reinstall windows. i have existing files. need help. not asking for
authinticity and will not open word or anything. says it can not find
product. does not give me the msberet file.
