Hi,

I want to install Outlook 2003 on a computer with Office XP installed. I've
tried to install it over the existing installation of outlook but it didn't
work. Can someone tell me how I need to do this ? Or is it impossible ?

Thx

Mark

You can do an upgrade. What didn't work? At what point did you get stuck?
Error message?

Hi Roady,

I've installed the Outlook 2003 over the existing Outlook XP (part of
office). In the beginning everything worked, but after a restart, some parts
of Outlook were not working. Example : When I tried to make a new e-mail
message, I got the error that Microsoft Word was not found or in use by
another program. Instead the standard HTML editor opened. It seems that in
some way the office is trying to repair itself.

Extra info : Office was installed manually from the server (defined in a
Group Policy)
I also found on the Microsoft site that Outlook XP and 2003 can never work
together on the same pc.

Thx

Mark

You need to deselect the option to use Word as your editor. Outlook 2003
cannot use any other version of Word except Word 2003 as an editor. If you
NEED to use Word as an editor, you'll have to upgrade Word, as well.
