Office XP Pro install Error

D

Doug Chinnock

I've installed Office XP from this CD on one Windows XP Home successfully.
When I attempt to do the same on a new PC with Windows XP Home edition,
it fails about half way through the:

Now Installing Office
Installation Progress:
Current action: Preparing to install...

The diagnostic alert is:
Error 25003:
"Microsoft Office setup cannot continue because the installation source has been
corrupted"

(I've tried installing from either of 2 CD drives.)

Do I need a replacement CD from Microsoft or
might this problem have other causes?
If I need a CD, how do I get one?

Thank you,
--Doug

Doug Chinnock,
If you do not have a qualifying product on the other system/computer you may recieve the error you mentioned, see:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;300852&Product=offxp
If you have the qualifying Office product at install of XP, just "show" it to your system when it asks for it. If your Office version is oem it can only be installed on the original...
If your installation cd is bad, go here to obtain a replacement:
