Office XP send/receive problem.

The computer we are working on originally had Office 2003
Enterprise Edition. The computer was changing hands so we
wiped out Office 2k3. We installed Office XP using an
extra license we had sitting around.

All of the email information is filled out correctly,
however when I click the Send/Receive button I get an
error message saying "Could not open the item. Try again."
I am at my wits end have been trying to figure this out
for a few days. If you have a questions or solution please
