I purchased this software when I bought my new desktop computer in December
2003.

I have the opportunity to purchase a used laptop. Will I be able to install
this software using my product key, or do I need to purchase new?

Please review the EULA on it. If it is OEM, you will need a new copy, if
retail you may "move" it.
