Office XP to Office 2003 Upgrade

I recently upgraded to Office 2003 from XP and I am confused by the fact that
the Office shortcut bar is still showing on my desktop (Without any icons in
it) I thought that 2003 has dispensed with the shortcut bar? Any ideas why it
is still showing and how I can get rid of it?
