Office XP toolbar stops

Just installed Office XP with all the latest patches.
Each time I open a message, after a few seconds the
toolbar becomes unavailable. I've found that if I turn
off using Microsoft Word as the editor, the problem goes
away. Any Ideas??

Found that by unchecking the "use Microsoft Word for
reading rich text..." block fixed the problem..
