Office Xp updates

Is there a search tool like "Windows XP" for updating "Office XP"? Where I
find updates for my two year or so Office XP program? Are these
automatically searched like "Windows XP"?

Yes there is a scan tool (2 actually). One at the Office
Update site (http://office.microsoft.com/officeupdate)
and an Admin tool that uses command-line actions
available at the Resource kit site.
