I have a large mobile user base that has Office 2002 SR-1 installed on their
laptops. I'd like to upgrade them all to SR-2 and apply the most recent
security patches (MS03-035 thru MS03-038.) The problem I am having is that
when I run these updates, the updates ask for the Office CD (specifically
PRO.MSI). If I point the update to the CD-Rom I intend to send out to our
users, the installation continues and completes, but I'd like to make these
upgrades silent so the user does not need to do anything.
Other notes:
- I'm using our corporate CD, not a retail copy
- I did not install from an Administrative Point- all user had the same
configuration and did not see the need.
- I created an Admin install (setup /a) point, extracted all of the update
files (SR2update.exe /c /t:...), edit the ohotfix.ini file to point to my
install point and ran ohotfix.exe on the MSP files and this did not help. I
was still prompted to insert the CD.
- I've tried to find a registry key that has the install from key, thought I
found it and changed it to my CD-Rom drive letter, but was still prompted
for the install CD.
Thanks for any help you can provide,
