XP Office Outlook problem

I have recently (within the last 3 weeks, I'd say) installed XP Office 2003
on my home computer and for whatever reason, Outlook did not install. Every
other program from the CD did, but not Outlook. I tried again today to
install only Outlook from the CD and it tells me the product code is
incorrect. This product code is the same one I used when I installed Office
and it worked fine - except for the Outlook program - and now it's telling me
it's incorrect? Please help!

It was a backup copy I made several years ago. I've misplaced the original.

Better find the original. Lot of things can go wrong with a Copy CD

Have you tried uninstalling all of Office and trying again? You may have an
earlier version of Outlook on your system. (Please note, Outlook XP is not
the same as Outlook 2003 - it is one version earlier - which do you have?)

Where did she say she has Outlook XP? She only said:

"I have recently (within the last 3 weeks, I'd say) installed XP
Office 2003" This suggests to me that she has installed Office 2003 on
Windows XP? Is this clearer now?

The OP mentioned quite clearly this:

"I have recently (within the last 3 weeks, I'd say) installed XP Office
2003"

Now any experienced 19 year old would understand this because XP
followed by Office 2003 CANNOT MEAN "Office XP Office 2003" It is plain
stupid and no clarification is required.

Haven't been hanging out in newsgroups much, eh? I have seen far less
intuitive posts (I hesitate to call them stupid) so I always follow the
axiom about assuming. It appears you are far less sanguine about being made
an, er, fool of.
