Office XP Upgrade

J

Jeff

I recently purchased the Office XP upgrade to move from
Office 97 to Office XP. During installation, I receive
the following error message:

"Error 1304. Error writing to file C:\Program
Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\OUTLCTL.DLL. Verify that
you have access to the directory"

Any suggestions?

The problem is that I've tried every one of the solutions
offered on that page, tried to reinstall, and I still
receive the same error message.

If you had stated this in your original post, I wouldn't have suggested this again. Have you tried copying the contents of the CD to your hard drive, then attempting to install from the hard drive? Be sure you are logged in as Administrator or as a user with administrator privileges on the system. Turn off any antivirus programs you're running before starting the installation.
