Office XP vs 2000 Updates

I just successfully installed the Office XP updates and
selected the Scan for more updates. I was surprised to
see an advisory to apply updates for Office 2000 as
well. Is this update for 2000 required? I thought once
I upgraded to XP a while ago the older 2000 versions
would be gone...?

Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs. If you still have any Office 2000
family applications such as Front Page, Publisher or an Office 2000
application that was not included in your edition of Office XP, then that is
what the update is intended.
