Short explanation: Fresh install of XP Pro (drive wiped
clean beforehand). All security updates installed, etc.
No SP2. Office XP absolutely refuses to work properly.
Have tried two entirely separate installations (my own
copy; then tried downloading our corporate-licensed
version........same result each time). Office does load,
but when you open any app, create a file and save it, it
cannot open it again. You get "file [filename] not
available". Across ALL Office XP apps. Then, when exiting
Word, get message saying that "normal.dot already
exists....", etc. I'm NOT editing a template file. Can
open no existing .doc or .xls or .ppt files whatsoever.
Two different Office XP downloads, same result?? Ran
a "repair" of WinXP Pro; ran repair on Office.......no
difference. Ideas anyone???
