Office XP, both word and excel, keep crashing. I am using
with XP Home edition. Using docs created with Office 97
and Windows 98. Is the problem Windows XP or Office XP?
Can I install and have work properly Office 97 on Windows
XP Home?

First off yes you can have Office 97 running in a Windows
XP operating system. However you should not have to.
Microsoft was smart enough to make their
products "backwards compatable" meaning documents you
create in Office XP can be read/opened in Office 97. I do
this everyday at work. As the network admin and working
with every version of Windows and Office that have been
made I can tell you that if your system is crashing (i.e.
you computer has to restart before you can do anything
with it) this would indicate a system wide problem.
Usually an operating system or hardware issue. If it was
just Ofice you would get one of those "illegal operation
