I have purchased a new PC and have loaded Office 2003.

I have attempted to use Excel and Word but both applications wont let me type

The cursor flashes but when i type nothing happens in the document.

An error message appears 'the modification is not allowed because the
document is locked'

I have the same problem for excel.

Any idea's?

You post that you have activated Office 2003 on your new computer. Did you
transfer the files you are trying to use to your new computer via CD? If
so, I would check to verify that you have cleared the read only attribute on
the files after you copied them from the CD to your new computer's hard
drive.
