Office2007 Downgrade

My company doesn't allow Office 2007 on staff WinXP/SP2 PCs because we don't
have enough licenses. However, we do for student PCs. Staff PCs run Office
2003. An associate inadvertantly installed Office 2007 on a staff PC. Now I
need to perform the downgrade to Office 2003 fro Office 2007. I have an
Office 2003 & 2007 Installer CD. These are my steps & issues:

I uninstall Office 2007 as administrator. But when we try to run Office 2003
apps as Admin or a basic staff account, it errors out and doesn't launch any
Office 2003 apps.

I've tried logging in as local administrator using Office 2003 'setup.exe'
and 'pro11.msi' files but to no avail. Autorun does not launch. I'm also
trying to use the 'repair' feature of Office 2003 in the Add/Remove Programs
applet, but no results.

Error message: The installed product does not match the installation source.
C:\MSOCache\All Users\90000409-6000-11D3-8CFE...Try to find the installation
package 'PRO11.MSI'.

Once I route the application's installer to the CD's 'pro11.msi', the
installation errors out even more. "The file PRO11.MSI is not a valid
installation package..."

If I reinstall Office 2007 as administrator, the Office apps work fine as
administrator and under the basic staff account...but the point is to remove
Office 2007 from the staff's PC. Please help.

Your clue is "The installed product does not match the installation source".
Once you upgrade some files are copied over.
Easiest way is to re-installed Ofc 2003.

hmmm... I had a similar situation but with same version of MS Office, version
2003.
During an update, instalation stopped asking for STD.MSI in the instalation
source. Some how versions would not match and update could not continue. I
tried to uninstall Office but didn't work... then I tried to reinstall using
STD.MSI and did not work either.
Finally decided to run from the same instalation source Setup.exe,
instalation now matches source. Setup.exe will resyncs instalation with
source.
