officeupdate "technical problem"

Hi all
When I want to check updates on the OfficeUpdate website, the progress
bar reaches 40% then I am redirected to a page that says "OfficeUpdate
is currently experiencing technical problems and cannot search for
updates". Since this has been lasting for a while, I wonder whether it
is possible that there is a problem on my side. Any ideas ?
[otherwise the guys at MS are really bad at maintaining their networks
since it seems the web-based newsreader for this newsgroups doesn't
work either, and neither do some other features on their website.]

The update process starts and then unexpectedly quits after you click "Check
for Updates" on the Office Update Web site:
