OfficeXP doesn't remember cd key

J

Jon Weston

Everytime I open an office app I have to enter my cd key, it's like it
doesn't remember it.

Circumstances: cleaned out computer and starting from new, so fresh WinXP
install and straight to a fresh OfficeXP Pro install. Install goes
normally, it likes the key fine when I install, but everytime I open an app
I have to enter they key again. Then it says that I have to close the app
for the changes to take effect. I do, then open the app and "ta da" I have
to enter the key again. So I just enter the key and leave the app open, but
what can I do about this?

Only odd thing about the install is that the drive is partitioned into c, d
and e drives and it "says" that it detected another operating system on C
before I reformatted it. Nobody knows anything about this. Should I remove
the partitions? Will that help?

TIA
Jon

Look in Start | Control Panel | Add or Remove Programs. Do you
have more than one version of Office XP installed? Do you have
Works Suite 2002 or later installed?

that's what the problem was that prompted the disk wipe and reinstall. I
don't now, though - reformatted and re-installed WindowsXp so it's all
clean.
