OFFSET function?

hello!

I want cells A1,A2,A3 to return the values in cells B12, B24, B36 (i.e. every 12th month in my case). Something to do with OFFSET I guess but I can't get it to work.

as ever, thanks to all those out there who help...

=OFFSET($A$1,ROW()*12-1,1)
and copy down
