OK to remove MS Works?

Our organization has a new laptop that came with MS Works. We installed MS
Office. Is there any reason to keep Works?
We use the laptop for PowerPoint Presentations, word processing, accessing
the internet for updates to the software and information for our
presentations.
It seems that we only need MS Office and that MS Works is just taking up
space.
Hard drive space (C:) isn't at a premium, but the backup drive (D:, a
partition on the only hard drive) is almost maxed out and we keep getting a
warning to remove files. I haven't figured out how to allocate more space to
D; I've been able to shrink C, but can't figure out how to extend D to
include the unallocated space.

You can uninstall Works if you want, provided Office does everything you
want. As to the partition, that's an issue with the operating system,
and if you want to fiddle with the space allocation, you will need to
acquire a partition manager software. Please use google to search for it.
