OL 2002 error "An object cannot be found"

Using verizon dsl, with outlook 2002. I have set up the POP3 account as
confirmed by verizon. When I send/recieve, I get the error "operation
failed. An object cannot be found." I saw MS articles about deleting my
*srs files and creating a new profile, but neither seemed to work. Can
someone please help?
