OL 2k shuts down when I close a message

This past week, have experienced this problem in OL 2k
under Win 98;

- Open and read a message in inbox,
- click the top, right X to close message
- OL 2k shuts down completely.

Ideally, I should still have OL open and be looking at my
inbox queue. There are similiar problems to this in K.B.,
but not this one exactly.

What to do?
