OL 2k starts to launch then freezes

Running WinXP Home Ed., OL2k. OL launches but freezes before loading folders
and emails, then I get the "program not responding" error. I have
reinstalled OL2k but still get the same problem. It was working find this
a.m. I installed spyweeper.com and rebooted computer then OL wouldn't work.
(I had OL2k and spysweeper running with no problems previously but after
installing a new hard drive a few weeks ago, I just realized this a.m. I
hadn't reinstalled spysweeper).

UPDATE: While waiting for this post to appear, I continued researching the
archives here and found a suggestion that pointed me to:

PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE SOLVED.

One of the answers in this discussion list pointed to
http://www.howto-outlook.com/faq/outlookdoesntstart.htm so I tried the first
step listed there:
Try running scanpst.exe on your Personal Folder. By default scanpst.exe can
be found here; C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\MSMAPI\<locale ID>

It came up with no errors but ironically, when I tried to launch OL again,
it launched and worked fine.

I've been trying to locate the post that referred me to that site, but can't
seem to find it now. Hopefully the link above will help others suffering the
same problem.
