OL Won't Prompt for Profile

A

April

I have a Mac running OS X and OS 9. Outlook 2001 is installed under
OS 9. I have three seperate profiles set up and when I opened Outlook
it used to prompt me for which profile to use. It has stopped
prompting me and I am not sure what caused this. I have triple
checked that my profiles are all set up, and I try to select "prompt
for profile" in the Edit - Prefrences menu, however it resets back to
"always use this profile". I have searched and searched for support
on this and cannot find any. Does anyone have a clue why it will not
prompt?

There's one way around.
1. If you have archieved folders in OUtlook for Mac, move all your
important messages to Inbox.
2. Copy the database folder from User\documents\Microsoft User
Data\Identities\Main Identity and transfer it to a PC, rename it to
Inbox.dbx
3. Locate the corresponding database in OE for PC which is in
C:\Documents and Settings\<User>\Local Settings\Application
Data\Identities\{2A8BD733-5F35-4750-856E-11CB808360A3}\Microsoft\Outlook
Express
- Move the existing Inbox.dbx outside the folder, and put the renamed
file here
4. Open the outlook Express on PC with your default user settings for
Exchange and you should find all your mails here.

5. Taking these mails to outlook 2003 will not work this way. But,
forward all your mails to another profile configured on outlook 2003
and you should get all your mails there.

pls let me know if it worked for you or not.
