OL2000 - rules keep turning off

A recent issue with my Outlook 2000 is that one of my rules tends to get
switched off. I can go in and reset it but I wonder why this is happening
and what I can do to keep it going all the time (as it is intended to do).
The rule is simple enough and just routes email to a specific box based on
the subject line. Thanks.

Exchange or standalone?
Does it move to a separate pst-file? The rule can then be disabled when the
separate mailbox isn't available.

Standalone not exchange. The rule will move the mail to the Deleted Items
folder. Any ideas?

Clear the Deleted Items Folder and try again.

In addition you can remove the rule, run Compact Now to compress the
pst-file and then run scanpst.exe against it. The recreate the rule and see
if it works now.
