Hi All,
I've been trying to work around the Confirmation messages for a program
using Simple MAPI to access Outlook's Address book and send email.
All systems are running Windows XP Pro SP1 and Office XP ( 2002 ) SP3.
After successfully setting up the Public Outlook Security Settings folder
and publishing the security form to automatically allow Simple MAPI access,
one workstation now allows the program to send emails without the
Confirmation messages appearing, however another workstation doesn't.
It turns out that the, for the workstation that isn't working correctly,
that the mail is delivered to a local PST file instead of the Exchange
mailbox.
On the first machine, the email is delivered to the Exchange Mailbox.
I finally tracked down a KBase article that contained the specific cases
when the security settings won't work.
One of the cases is... if mail is delivered to a local folder ( PST ),
Outlook doesn't check the Public Outlook Security Settings folder.
Now I know why I keep getting the confirmation messages on this workstation.
Does anyone know if there is a work-around for this?
If not, I'll have to use something like ClickYes.
