OL2003: How to see number of unread messages in a public folders .

In previous versions of Outlook, you could easily make a shortcut to a public
folder on the shortcut bar. The number of unread messages in the folder were
shown in parentheses () - e.g. companymail (23). This feature seems not to
be available in Outlook 2003. Anyone found a solution for this?

You can see the unread message count if you look at the public folder(s) in
the folder list view.
