OLAP Analysis Services does not work out of domain

Okay, I searched the site but didn't see an answer...

Domain users (landlocked PCs) can access all analysis
views, so there is no problem with the build. Laptops
that do not authenticate to the domain can get to PWA
via 'http://server/projectserver'. The user gets a
popup login and the user enters 'domain\username'
and enters password and is in. Good so far.

The user can look/do everything except look at "Analyze
Projects in Portfolio Analyzer" under "Project" in PWA.

To head off questions, I am a domain user. I can see
everything when authenticated to the domain. Next, I
go to my laptop and connect the net cable into my
laptop. No domain auth, I just go to
'http://server/projectserver' and do the popup login
and I'm in, except I can't launch the AS views.

What is the workaround to this (if any)?

Thanks a bunch,

You probably do not have SQL Enterprise installed. This is required to open
the Portfolio Analyzer up over the internet.

Yes, we only have SQL Standard installed.

So I guess that means there is no work around?

Thanks.

What we've done is to set up a terminal server so external users can log in
and run the analyzer from there. I believe Windows Server 2003 has built in
Terminal Server accounts built in. You'd need to buy additional licensing if
you need more than 2 consecutive users.

Hope this is a possibility for you!
