I am having problems where I have installed Project Server on one Server and
am connected to SQL on another server. I installed the DSO components from
SQL Analysis Services on the Project Server and have a Windows User Account
that is a member of the OLAP Administrators on both Servers. I have run the
PSCOM+ application and have it running, I used the appropriate windows user
account and password when running PSCOM+ and got a success message on
create.
When I try to create an OLAP Cube from within the Admin function in Project
Web Access the process is recorded as having been started but there is no
activity in SQL Analysis Services on the SQL Server. The installation &
configuration guide does not appear to provide any additional advice about
deploying Project Server in this manner. Does anyone on the ng have any idea
what might be causing the problem?
I thought that the SQL Analysis Services Service Pack may be part of the
problem - how can I check that what is installed on the Project Server
Server is compatible with what is on the SQL Server? Is there an easy way to
check versions of SQL service packs?
I am also having a problem with the Project views in Project Web Access - I
can see projects in the project centre but cannot drill down to the detail
in an individual project - I get the "there is no information to view"
message when clicking on an individual projects name in the project centre -
any ideas, I have read about XML drop folders?
These are problems I have not encountered before, the only difference with
the install as far as I am aware is that the SQL database is not on the same
box as Project Server.
Advice & experience from the ng community would be much appreciated.
