OLAP Cubes

Portfolio Analyzer views are very powerful means of reporting high-level
project and resource information to senior managers and objectives. The
Portfolio Analyzer views consist of an Excel PivotTable and/or an Excel
PivotChart.

Furthermore, anyone who views a Portfolio Analyzer view can easily customize
the view by adding/removing dimensions and total fields in the View, and
then save it as a personal View by clicking the Save Link button. Hope this
helps.

could you give me an example of the information that it gives you? Is it
a breakdown of progress or % completed?

Dale,

You stated that you can add total fields to the view. Is there a way to add
additional fields to the total fields, i.e. % complete?

% Complete is not a Total field you can add to a Portfolio Analyzer view,
nor can you create it as a custom Total field. Sorry.

Is there a way to add any fields to the total field? Also, I'm having
trouble renaming my sharepoint URL. I went to Manage Windows SharePoint
Services in PWA to change the URL from the server name to the new DSN name,
i.e. http://zxprod11:11279 to http://epm.projectserver:11279 for the
central admin url and the same thing with :80/sites. However, when I click
save I get a dialog box saying "Project Server cannot connect to the
specified web server running WSS.
Please check the HTTP protocols and the port numbers in both URLs." I've
tested both URLs and they both work. I clicked on test url and the central
admin page comes up. There are no errors in event viewer. I've also tried
the workaround from article 891166, and it does not work. Any help will be
much appreciated, thanks.

Please post your WSS question as a new question in the newsgroup.

If you want other fields in the OLAP cube, you will need to extend the OLAP
cube. If you want to handle this yourself, refer to Bob Segrest's excellent
white
paper in our Project Server Experts Downloads section at the following URL:

http://www.projectserverexperts.com/Downloads/Forms/AllItems.aspx

If you do not have the in-house expertise to extend the OLAP cube, you can
purchase a Project Server add-on to do this, available at the following URL:

http://www.bogdanov-associates.com/eng.asp

Hope this helps.
