OLAP / Data Analysis- how to?...

A

We've got OLAP / Data Analysis working in PS 2007. Couple of
questions if I may...

1. After dragging the desired numbers columns onto your reporting
cube, how do you ensure that the numbers are rounded to the nearest
decimal place (0 decimals, etc.)? I can't seem to find a setting in
"commands and options" to round a number column up.

2. I gather that the Time drill down option on columns is based on
Calendar time. Is there a way to make that drill down work by Fiscal
Year or does the user have to manually pick the months they are
interested in seeing total for?

Thanks,

1) Under commands and options under the Format tab instead of picking Fixed
or Standard in the Number field, type the number 0. This will round the
results to a whole number

2) To get fiscal time in the cube, you need to first define your fiscal time
periods under PWA>Server Settings>Time and Task Management>Fiscal Periods.
Once you do this and rebuild the cube you can use the "Fiscal Time"
dimension rather than the "Time" dimension

Hope this helps,

Andy,

When defining or viewing a Data Analysis view you should be able to display
"Commands and Options" by right clicking on the column heading, on the the
format tab there is the option to set the number format to be fixed and to
specify the number of decimal places you want to be displayed.

As for Financial Year in the MSP_Portofolio_Analyzer cube there is a value
for Fiscal Time which you define within the Task and Time Management section
of the Server Settings Administrative console. I have not checked to see how
many of the other 13 cubes list this field as an option.

When I get the Fiscal Time and move it to the grid, it says "Not Set"
and I can only drill all the way down to a Day level (e.g., July day
14) which is completely strange. Where do I "Set" the FY for
reporting in Data Analysis given that Fiscal Time is available to me?
As much as an overview you could provide would be great!

Thanks!

Have you already set your fiscal time periods under PWA>Server Settings>Time
and Task Management>Fiscal Periods

Have you re-built the cube since you set the fiscal time periods?
