Old and New PPT versions

I am running PPT 10.1.5 on my computer. When I receive a PPT from a
Mac user with System 9 all of the bullets or diamonds in front of
sentences are converted to what looks like a Greek letter rather than a
bullet. Is there any way around this?

Alan,

This sounds more like a font mismatch than a version problem.

Do you have the font that was used for the bullets?
If not then what you are experiencing is likely to happen, as powerpoint
will just substitute a font in place of the font you do not have.

Hi Alan,

As TAJ pointed out the culprit here is likely to be a font that's not
installed on the Windows computer.

Microsoft has some suggestions about what fonts to use for improved
cross-platform performance. Check out the section about Word on this page
(the same font recommendations are good for PowerPoint)

A good resource concerning fonts and compatibility is this web page from
