old names in the To: field

I've changed a users last name on our Exchange 2000 server, but left the email (of her old last name) in the Email Address tab as a secondary email, so that she can still recieve email from those who do not know she has a new name.

When other users, including myself, type a new email message to this person it automatically prompts to her old last name. For those who do not catch this, it is causing no mail to be sent to her; the sender receives a bounced back message stating "Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients."

For a test, I have deleted the old name out of the To field (picking it & using the delete key) when it appears in the drop down selection box, but after a reboot the old name reappears. How do I get rid of this old name? Is there an option in Exchange to rid myself of this old name? Is there a way to clear the cache?
