Old 'Quit Daemon' script not working

After updating to 12.1.9 the old 'Quit Daemon' script that I used to use before shutting down Entourage prior to backing up to an external drive pops up the message 'The application Microsoft Entourage quit unexpectedly'.
Is a new 'Quit Daemon' script required or does 12.1.9 now not need to quit the daemon at all to make a perfect bootable backup. I always did turn off office reminders and shut down all Microsoft applications - at least those I could see. And everything used to work fine when booting from the Backup..
Thank you

AFAIK, nothing has changed, but in Office 2008 quitting the daemon does not
quit reminders. See these scripts here to quit everything.

There appears to be a non-printing character on the end of the referenced
link. After getting the error message, delete all characters from the URL
after "html"
