OLE object missing

I have an '97 be/fe database that I tried to create a '03 fe for. The problem
is with one of the forms. The form has an OLE objects. If the record doesn't
have an OLE associated with it, it gives me an error message "The OLE object
is empty".

How do I get this message from appearing? In the '97 fe it doesnt' give the
error.
