OLE problem? Cannot insert table into excel cont...

Okay, so I am continuing from a previous thread as I am still still trying to
figure out this issue. The flow of this thread is in reverse order. Posts at
the bottom are from other personnel from a previous post but relevant to this
issue. Here is what I have realized so far.

If I go into excel and copy the cells of the sheet and then open word and
chosse paste/paste special it will paste and I can edit it within word as
well. And every time after I do that, if I am still in the same document, if
I go to insert/table/excel spreadsheet, it will then work but if I close out
the doc and open a new one and try to insert/table/excel spreadsheet, it will
not. It is like word is trying to open excel 03 through dde or whatever
instead of excel 07. I assume this because if I also install excel 03 along
side excel 07 it works fine from within word insert/table/excel spreadsheet.
So I need someone to help me figure out either in the registry or wherever to
tell word to look for the excel 07 program instead of excel 03. Or something
else but this is what I am assuming. Any ideas????

Hello,
Is nobody has the solution for this problem ?
the message is :
"the program used to create this object is excel" that program is not
installed on your computer.
when you insert a excel spreadsheet it works and you are able to open and
close the excel but after saving and closing the word document you got the
error message
office 2007 is not a good program !!

:
Okay, I installed excel 03 on my machine that also has office 07 and word
will insert the table. However, I do not want excel 03 on my system. I want
it to work correctly with excel 07. I need some help please. Here is the
excat error:
"The program used to create this object is Excel. That program is not
installed on your computer. To edit this object, you must install a program
that can open the object."

Hello,
I have been working on this for about a week now and I am at a loss. Word 07
will not allow me to insert and excel table into a word doc. When I try I get
a error similar to:
The program needed to perform the is operation is Excel. Install the program
and retry.
I get this error if I try to insert the table through the table drop box or
the insert object drop box. Any way possible, I get it.
I have Excel 07 so I am wondering why it will not let me. I thought DDE was
the problem but it is not ignored through excel so I do not know what is
going on. I believe it may be a registry setting but I am not sure where to
look. I also uninstalled and reinstalled everything and still get it. Any
help is greatly appreciated.

Have you tried repairing your Office installation? It sounds as though some
of the Registry setting in Office are pointing to the wrong application.
This can happen if you install Office versions side-by-side. Especially if
you install an earlier version after a later version. Such as installing
Office 2007 and then Office 2003.

Exit all Office applications and then in your Control Panel, in Add/Remove
Programs, select your Office installation and use the Repair option.

I'm having the same issue. I have a document created in Excel 2003
that I'm trying to OLE insert into a Word 2007 document. The OLE
command errors with the exact message that jrlgel is encountering. I
really need a solution to this issue or we are going to have major
problems with a lot of legacy documents.

Repairing the installation works, but when on a network pc, its not always an
option. So, copy and paste a section of a worksheet from Excel to Word
(Paste Special as an Excel worksheet), then try to edit it, which it wont let
you....which then forces Word 2007 to repair itself. :)
