When emptying the juck e-mail folder it would be nice if the system did not
prompt me for read recipts. First of all they are juck, second of all the
pompt is behind the progress prompt and hard to see.

In that case perhaps setting up a rule to do it. But I am surprised at
the "prompt behind the progress prompt". Are you doing a "force delete"?

I right click on the junk e-mail folder, select empty. The system prompts
asking if I want to empty the junk e-mail folder. If there are no e-mails
requestion a read response in the junk e-mail folder the e-mails are deleted
normally. If one or more of the e-mails has a read request the system
prompt if I want to send the read request. I always select no to all since I
really don't want to confirm my e-mail address to the spammers.

The first time I did this I waited a good long while wondering why it was
taking so long before I realized that there was a longer prompt window behind
the progress bar window requesting the read response.

My basic feeling is if its in the junk e-mail folder the system should not
prompt for a read response. If I am reading non-junk e-mail it seems
logical that I might want to have the option to send a read response.

Note this might also been a delivier recipt request.

You can test this by sending yourself an e-mail with the read and/or
delivery request option set. Upon recipt drag it to your junk e-mail folder.
Right click junk e-mail and select empty.

It works 100% of the time on my system... I would send you a jpg of the
screen but I don't see an obivous way to do that from this screen.
