I'm Looking to enter a date in one cell with a duration behind it so it comes
up in the other cell with new date. Example

3-2-07 - 90 day duration - 6-2-07

It would be far easier to put the date and duration in separate cells.

If A1 has 3-2-07 and B1 has 90, to get the results you want is simply:

=a1+b1

If you insist on using a single cell, use a different delimiter than used in the
date. Then use the Find function to determine the position in the cell, and the
Left and Right functions to select the date and duration. Post back if you need
help on these.

Your example is not using a 90 day duration.

3/2/2007 + 90days = 5/31/2007

It appears that you want the date plus 3 months:

A1 = 3/2/2007

=DATE(YEAR(A1),MONTH(A1)+3,DAY(A1))

Result = 6/2/2007

yes thats it thanks T.Valko , can you maybe help alittle more
my friend along time ago made this work for me. he must hava had hided cells
cause all i would do is type in a date in one cell hit enter and the next
cell would show the results ie. new date i was able to put in any duration
from 15 days to 365 days Thanks so much again

That's what this formula is doing:

=DATE(YEAR(A1),MONTH(A1)+3,DAY(A1))

You need to enter the formula in the cell where you want the result. If you
want to be able to change the duration then it's best to use another cell to
hold that. Also, you need to make up your mind as to the duration. Do want
to add months or days? In your first example it looked as though you wanted
months. This example will be for days.

A1 = some date
B1 = some duration
C1 = this formula (made a little more robust):

=IF(COUNT(A1:B1)<2,"",A1+B1)
