On Powerpoint, I can insert some sound, and some I cannot, why?

I need help. On deadline with ppt and cannot get this music to insert. Was
able to download a cd weeks ago and it will insert, but anything I try now
will not work.
I can download cd and hear it on my computer, but it will not play on ppt.
What am I doing wrong!
