ON07 Continual "Installing"

This group has helped me considerably in getting my One Note set up, but I am
still having trouble with continual Installing screens. Some background:
1. Office Professional 2007 SP2
2. Vista Home Premium
3. One Note 2007
4. Have installed and uninstalled several times
5. Have repaired ON07 and Office several times
Each time I start ON07 or Outllook, I get 3-5 'installing screens' (which
are presumably trying to get the 'send to one note' icon installed in
Outlook).
6. This icon does NOT appear in Outlook anywhere.
7. All else works just fine

Can I get stop the installing screens?
Can i get the send to icon?

Thanks for any and all assistance!

Ah, you're still here, thanks, David!

I'm still not sure how to work that Event Viewer, nor which event or
directory to view, but here's one that was the latest, I hope it means
something to you?

Anything new?
I closely followed the old thread and this one.
And I'm just clueless. No idea on what might be going in in your system.

I do not know how you organized your system.
If your *data* are kept separate from the programs and outside of
"Documents and Settings" I would suggest to back up all of the data and
make a fresh install of the OS.

Thanks for the follow up Rainald! I've been dealing off line with David and
may God bless him for going above and beyond the call of duty. We have been
trying Event Viewer, using it to discover the error codes, which David then
researches and suggests different "fixes", many of which involve Installer
issues and Registry changes. So far, nothing has worked.

Being a novice, I'm very wary of an OS reinstall. Given the irritation of
simply having to cancel all the install/configure boxes as Outlook comes up
may be the best choice, if I want ON07, which I do as the features are
sensational.

There appears to be something fundamentally wrong with Microsoft's Installer
for Vista and an OS reinstall is most probably the right solution, but the
pain is not worth the gain, in my view.
