One more time...Learn an image editing program..

E. T. Culling

Several need to be reminded:
Too many come to this FP forum asking questions about using images in their
sites. If you're going to build websites you are going to have to learn an
image editing program. Don't let FP touch your images in any way.
Here's a slightly out-of-date article that might help:
http://www.eleanorstravels.com/usingphotos.htm
Here's another for Paint Shop Pro:
http://www.eleanorstravels.com/PSPv9/index.htm
You certainly don't need the full-blown version of Photoshop ... Photoshop
Elements 5 is their latest version.
Here's another helpful article I hope ... about galleries:

Well, Eleanor I agree 100%. (The jargon these days is to say 110% but that's
impossible and one of the things that annoys me)

But how does one (do we) disseminate this information ?
I suppose one could periodically post a message "Anyone with queries about
images read here" but that coudl be regarded as SPAM/

BTW,
I have looked at your australia06 site.

These are places my wife and I have not been to, or I suppose many
Australians. To us, they are great parts of our country which we see in
photos in magazines and TVs shows, etc. but they are still remote from us.
Yeah, Canberra to the Kimberleys, NW WA - that's Western Australia not
Washington :)) . I don't know how many 1000's of KM . We have been to many
parts of Australia, but not to the Red Centre and NW WA. Maybe that's a trip
we can take someday, but certainly not in summer !!

Another BTW,
There is something wrong with
http://www.eleanorstravels.com/CatherdralGorge2006/index.htm
image no 1

I cannot get the enlarged image to display

But apart from that ...
Great Photos
Great presentation

Thanks Trevor
I guess I've gotten a bit preachy! But it bothers me that so many folks
building web sites believe that all they need are the image tools within
FP... and that's just plain wrong. They must learn an image editing program
with one as simplified at Irfanview. My recommendation is, of course, Paint
Shop Pro v.10 (not v.11). Adobe has a new Elements out...v.5, Ulead has
PhotoImpact etc. A full version of Photoshop is just not necessary.
If you're going to use images ... learn to do them properly.

Dunno if the "believe"...it's probably more like they just don't "know".
Happened to me back when I bought FP1...I ended up stopping what I was doing
with FP for 6 months when I went out and bought and learned Photoshop.

That's one of the things that happens when a marketing dept. oversells a
product, not just MS either...oh it can do everything! well, maybe it can;
but it can't do everything well.
