One note stuttering every few seconds

When I'm typing in One note, every few seconds, at least a couple times per
minute, the text I'm typing stutters. It will stop, then catch up instantly
a few seconds later. It is very annoying, and only seems to happen when I am
running One note...
Any suggestions?

I have most of my anti virus's auto protect features turned off. I also
haven't noticed the performance jump up to the 100% area when the jumps
happen... I have mcaffe still right now, since I just bought the computer,
but I think I'll just uninstall it anyway.. Maybe that will fix it?

I completely removed my antivirus software from my computer (it was only a
free trial anyway... But it is still doing this skipping...

I am using an acer aspire one, and This is a replacement for another acer
aspire one that I dropped... when running one-note on that computer, I never
had any issues, they only came up on this computer... any ideas?

It's OneNote 2007, bundled with Office Enterprise 2007. I've got my two
laptops sitting in front of me, they are basically identical. The only
difference between the two is that this one (the one with the issue) is
newer, and has a slightly bigger monitor.. 8.9 v/s 10.1..

Since I was already doing it, I went ahead and uninstalled basically
everything I don't use.. package software, etc... Still seeing the problem..
I would just find it surprising, even if the computer only has 1gb of RAM,
that it would not be able to effectively run OneNote... And I'm baffled as
to why the older model of the computer is able to run it successfully.

Sorry for not responding! No, using nothing external with the computer. I
ran the Office repair feature as well, hoping It was an install issue.
Question... One note automatically saves periodically... Is this in real
time? Maybe its lagging when One note automatically saves?

I don't think so. IMO this would not be an issue.
Never had this kind of issue on any of my computers, not even in my HP
tc1100 TabletPC running under Vista 32 with only 1.1Ghz CPU and 1.5GB
RAM.It's a mystery.

Just a few shots in the dark:
Where are your notebooks stored, locally on the laptop?
Or do you or do you open them shared via LAN/WLAN?

How big is the size of the open notebooks altogether?
Does it make any difference if you reduce the number open notebooks?

Did you try it after having deleted to cache?

I have tried it with no other notebooks open, and tried it with a brand new
notebook too...

I want to try to delete the cache, but I can't seem to find it...

I deleted my Cache... I am still experiencing this problem.. I almost want
to completely uninstall and reinstall the program but my CD key only has a
limited number of installs....

I also Just upgraded my computer from 1gb to 2gb of RAM... I was planning on
doing this in the first place... No change. I don't think its something
taking up my processor... If I look at my task manager, I'm not taking up
any more than about 30% of my processing power when im using onenote and that
was before I got the RAM upgrade... there was no jump in the % when it does
that either...

I wish I could just edit posts... I noticed that whenever I type, my mouse
pointer freezes up for a few seconds too, no matter what i'm doing...
anytime I hit a button on my keyboard the mouse freezes up... Could that
have something to do with this?

What operating system are you using?

If you click Start | Run and type MSCONFIG then press Enter then go to the
Startup tab and see what services are running at startup. You can uncheck
any that seem unnecessary (you can re-check them later if you discover you
do need them) and see if that helps.

I'm running Window XP. I took another look at my startup services..
Basically all that's in there are programs which I have really no idea what
they do... but there's not very many.

Do you have an updated installation of an antivirus application?
Regardless, I suggest downloading and running MalwareBytes on your system to
look for malware that may have hooked your keyboard and/or mouse.

I don't currently have an antivirus, I'll be downloading AVG at some point
but I havent gotten around to it, but I definitely do have malwarebytes
already, which is coming up clean....

Ugh this is so frustrating, I feel like I'm just shooting in the dark here..

There is one error that I noticed that is in my log 3 times over the course
of a week or so. Office 12 error 5000... Microsoft's error database doesn't
have any information about that error though... Know anything about it?

If i knew it would fix it i would just go buy another CD key from my
college's computer store and reinstall office, but that's an 80 dollar
investment that I just can't make on a whim... since the product I bought is
limited to 2 installs, so I'm told.
