I don't know. You might want to ask in a Vista newsgroup.

Wish I would have known that 2 months ago! I have an upgrade Vista Business
cd, can I install that over Vista 64 Bit?

It's actually the sole reason why I personally will not install Vista 64

This is a common request from people running 64 bit systems. We are looking
into what it would take to develop and ship a 64 bit driver. No guarantees,
but we are looking into it.

The OneNote printer driver will not work on Vista 64 bit. You have to
use Vista 32 bit.

bruce,

i have the same problem, OneNote 2007 printer was not installed at setup.
my situation, however, is different. i am running Vista 64bit Ultimate with
Office 2007 installed. i have attached a setup log file that may be the one
from the OneNote install. there was no previous version of OneNote, but my
system does have a trial version of Office 2007 Premium, where only Word,
Excel and Outlook have been activated. this is because i ordered my notebook
with Office basic, but HP loaded Premium instead and i had to activate my
Office programs individually.

thanks for your help. i am finding OneNote 2007 very useful and would like
to use the print-to function as well.

:

You've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and you're not running 64bit
Windows, so we need to look into this a little more. If the print driver is
not installing, please send us your Setup log files for your Uninstall and
Reinstall. We might be able to figure out the problem by looking at them.
Here's what we need you to do:

- START | Run, type "%temp%" (without the quotes) and press [Enter]
- You're looking for files with a name like "SetupEXE(2007.log" and "MSI.log".
- Let's start with the files from you most recent uninstall and reinstall.
Please ZIP them up and email the file to me.

Thanks!

I did as you suggest and still no luck. I did not have the OneNote 2003
PowerToy installed. I'm at a real loss here. I installed ON 2007 on my
laptap (it's my desktop that's giving me the trouble) and it works fine there.

:

Uninstalling OneNote 2007, REBOOTING (if you don't reboot, it won't
work) and then reinstalling OneNote 2007 should give you the driver.
Except if you have the OneNote 2003 PowerToy Send to OneNote installed.
If you do, you need to remove that after you removed 2007 and rebooted,
and reboot again after you removed that powertoy.

I have a similar problem and have uninstalled, reinstalled, repaired and
added and removed new features and still can't get this feature to work. I
have even gone through the registry (after an uninstall) and removed every
mention on ON and then reinstalled but to no avail. I also tried to manual
add the "Send to OneNote" virtual printer, can see the "Send to OneNote"
port, but get stumped when it asks for the driver.

Can't someone just post the driver or give us a clear way to get this working?

:

The best thing to do is to uninstall OneNote 2007 and then reinstall. The
print driver was renamed for the RTM\Ship version causing a bit of an issue.
The reinstall should properly clean things up although sometimes, "Repair"
might work.

:

I had the Beta of OneNote 2007 and Office 2007. They both worked great for
me. There was this nifty print driver that would print to OneNote 2007 beta.
I thought that this was one of the most useful features it had. Now, with
the release version of OneNote 2007 and Office Standard 2007 I can't figure
out how to get a printer like there was with the betas. I have installed ALL
features (optional and otherwise) from both packages.

Can anyone tell me how to do this?

Yes, that killed it probably. As naniMS said, you'll have to remove the

to get the printer driver.

Bruce,

I am having the same problem with Windows XP. The onenote demo worked great
with the send to onenote function and then as soon as I bought and installed
Office Ultimate 2007 it stopped working. I have tried uninstalling all of
office rebooting and reinstalling twice.

I'm using a new dell laptop with very little software besides XP, and Office.

Any help would be appreciated.

Unfortunately NOT before the next version of Office.

For the reason pls see
David Rasmussen: OneNote 64 bit print driver
http://blogs.msdn.com/david_rasmussen/archive/2008/04/21/onenote-64-bit-print-driver.aspx

For workarounds pls see:
Daniel Escapa: A workaround for no x64
http://blogs.msdn.com/descapa/archi...nd-for-no-x64-sendtoonenote-print-driver.aspx
Nils Kaiser: How to get back “How to get back “Send to OneNote†on Vista
x64"
http://blog.nils-kaiser.de/2008/06/20/how-to-get-back-send-to-onenote-on-vista-x64/
In the replies on Nils Kaiser's blog there are two more possibilities
mentioned:
a) "PowerPoint To OneNote" utility
http://www.borlik.net/blog/archives/000097.html
b) PDFCreator (free and open source) creating TIFs as output
http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/

The latter seems to be the best way to print to ON under Vista-64

Rainald

N

NoCouth

ACTUALLY, now there IS a solution to this "Print to OneNote2007" problem for
we Vista 64 bit users!!! YEA!! And it's NOT using a PDF-type creator to
make a TIFF file then bring that into OneNote. It's on the
www.iheartonenote.com website, more precisely, Go here:
http://community.iheartonenote.com/...iver-A-64-Bit-Solution/BLOG/254402/75595.html

David Rasmussen spent his Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays building you a
solution. Keep in mind that this is not an official Microsoft solution -
consider it a personal gift from David. The code is available in open source,
so anyone interested in contributing to it's development should roar over and
check it out.

R

Rainald Taesler

Thanks a whole lot for the really good news, NoCouth!

Immediately I went to David Rasmussen's Blog-site.
It's really fantastic that David did produce this solution.

I can not remember how often (some dozens of times at least) in the past
I had to say "Sorry, no Vista64 printer available".

Really great that there is a solution now.

Thanks again for letting us know

Rainald
