OneNote 2007 should let you make all existing images searchable

It would be really great if there was an easier way to make existing imported
images in onenote OCR seachable. I have a lot of pages from various books and
handouts which I have imported from OneNote 2003 which have been printed into
one note using the OneNote 2003 print tool in the tablet PC education pack.
It is really slow to have to go through every image in a 100 page book and
click on make it searchable. It would be great if you could process all
images in a section or folder in OneNote 2007 and make them searchable.

Here's a partial workaround. The imported images are probably set as
background by default.

Right-click on the page, on a blank spot, not on an imported page. Then
uncheck "Set as background". This will un-background every image in the
page. Then, select all, right-click on a page, and disable the searchable
image. Then right-click again and re-enable it.

It's not perfect, but it works.
