Onenote addin for Outlook 2003

V

Vince W.

I recently upgraded to Office Pro 2007 after having used the betas for
months. I've not upgraded OneNote to '07. It appears OneNote '03 works fine
with Office '07.

What I liked was the powertoy addin (Outlook to OneNote). Does anyone know
if that addin is compatible with Office 2007 or more specifically with
Outlook 2007?

Thanks

Vince

There is robust integration of OneNote 2007 and Outlook 2007. OneNote
has "one button access" from Outlook 2007. It's kinda like you can
take (OneNote) "notes" on any Outlook Item. I said Outlook 2007
would be a failure if it didn't have one-button Access to Outlook and
I am glad to say it does, and then some.

The Powertoy Send Outlook 2003 to OneNote 2003 allowed or made you choose
the OneNote 2003 section you wanted for the destination.

Outlook 2007 has a sent to OneNote 2007 built-in the menu when you right
click on a email. However, you need to pre-determine the destination for
both Outlook 2007 and Internet Explorer 7 sent to OneNote 2007 in OneNote
2007 Tools, Options, Send to OneNote.

Albeit buggy...I use it constantly and have found numerous bugs that
drive me nuts, but I work around them. Check it out, you will be glad
you did.

Sorry to say so, but I simply can not understand your tactics at all!!

Why being so reluctant???

OneNote was - more or less - just a *concept* and not really a
*workable* application.
Or let's say: ON2003 was just the Alpha-version of what an application
might and could be.

ON2007 is not yet really what the concept might have promised. Quite
some drawbacks and shortcomings.
But all-in-all it's a truly fantastic instrument.
And ways above of what ON2003 was.

So you are punishing yourself day by day and hour by hour by not
having upgraded.
IMO there's only one thing to do:
Replace ON-Alpha (called ON 2003) by ON2007.
Nothing to loose at all and a whole lot to gain.

The integration of Outlook and OneNote as to my experience was more of
a "Vision" than reality [siiiigh].
Some things work. But real *integration* would require a lot more than
what is working at present [siiiigh].

Still: There's a lot more on the level Outlook to ON2007 than OL to
ON2003.
Defintely:
Making the move from ON2003 to ON2007 is a true MUST.
