I hit that a few times when I didn't have WDS installed correctly and was
having all kinds of trouble with cidaemon.exe. My only solution was to go
back to an image I had taken before I installed ON 2007. No amount of
uninstalling and reinstalling would work for me. Try uninstalling WDS and
see if the problem goes away. If it does then you may have to do without
WDS till they come out with an updated version of WDS 3. Perhaps going
back to a restore point may help. I am pretty sure something got
corrupted on my system by a bad install of WDS and caused it to load
cidaemon.exe even though that file is from an older version of the
Indexing Services.
